A4 PDF pattern - Print yourself - top and pants

Adelaide is a complete top and pants set, designed for comfort, movement and a playful elegance. This is a garment that works equally well at home or out, depending on the fabric choice and styling.

The trousers have a high waist with an elasticated waist and a slight flare at the bottom. They fit comfortably and tight over the waist and hips, giving a clean and modern look. The top has a simple cut with a little extra. A little extra width at the sleeve openings and around the hips gives the garment an elegant and soft shape.

The top can be sewn with either a crewneck or turtleneck. Both versions are made for stretch fabric and finished with a rolled hem, while the crewneck is sewn with a hem or rib at the neck.

Adelaide is suitable for those who want to:
– sew a comfortable set with a complete look

– learn to work with stretch and rolled edges on an overlock
– vary the expression with different fabric choices
– sew garments that are actually worn, again and again

– sew quick and pretty gifts for others

  • This is what you need:

How much fabric do you need:
    Pants: 140 x 265 cm
    Top: 140 x 200 cm

If you sew both top and pants from the same fabric, you will need less overall, as the pattern pieces can be joined together when cutting. We do not have a measure for this.

    Accessories:
    – Elastic for waistband (5 cm wide, length adjusted to your waist)
    – Thread that matches the fabric

    Equipment:
    – Overlock machine. Or sewing machine with stretch stitch or zigzag
    – Scissors / rolling knife
    – Ironing board and iron
    – Clips or pins. Clips are safer when sewing with an overlock machine.

  • Printing of pattern

    Download and print:

    • Download the file you receive to your PC/computer.

    • Print out the pattern in A4

    • For best results, print only from a computer, not your mobile phone.

    • Print at 100% scaling. Or make sure to print without changing the size of the file, using your printer's settings.

    • Print the first page with the test square first! Measure it to be 2 inches (5.08 cm) on all sides. If the measurements are not correct, print again with different print settings until it measures 2 inches (5.08 cm).

    • Then print all the sheets with this setting.

    Assemble the pattern sheets:

    • Each sheet is numbered.
    • All sheets have a frame around which you must cut. A cliff line.
    • These lines should be placed on top of each other.
    • Cut only the left cut line and the top or bottom cut line. This will allow you to easily place all the patterns together.
    • Use tape to attach them together.

  • Fabric recommendations

The top is sewn in stretch fabric of approximately 200 gsm.
The trousers are sewn in stretch fabric of approximately 200–300 gsm.

We recommend qualities such as jersey, pointelle, interlock, rib, punta di roma or similar fabrics with good elasticity and weight.

We especially recommend the top in thinner stretch fabric with good and soft elasticity, such as pointelle and thin jersey. This gives a lighter and more feminine look, and emphasizes the fall of the sleeves. This fabric is recommended because the top sits somewhat tight over the bust to emphasize it.

The pants can be sewn in the same fabric as the top for a soft set, or in a firmer stretch fabric with good hold and elasticity. Here, qualities of approx. 200–300 gsm work very well. For example. Punto de Roma.

All cast-ons are finished with a rolled hem on the overlock machine. Turtlenecks are also sewn with a rolled hem.
